Coming home today my truck had its first buzzer go off. Dash read Tire Pressure Sensor Fault. Pulled over at the gas station, checked my pressures. Worst one was about 7psi low. Air pump wasn't working there so I just rode home and am going to air up there. Any time I went above ~55mph, the warning would go off. Once I got into town, the warning shut off.
So I'm guessing the sensor is bad, not the fact that I was a little low. Correct? Also, any correlation with speed on this? The fact I went faster the buzzer went off, but slower I was fine. If it is in fact a bad sensor, how can I tell which tire?
Brought the truck to work today and no warnings. Then again, I don't drive about 40mph on my commute. I'm wondering why it only kicks on at high speeds. And there's no real way to determine which sensor either, huh? I guess I could go around, break down each tire, replace each battery, then test it out. If its the sensor itself, this could be a long process of elimination.
Mine goes off like clockwork when my wife is riding shotgun and plugs her phone into the 12v charger.
whoa whoa whoa. wait a second. When this happened I had a passenger and they plugged in their phone as well. I honestly never even noticed that 12v charger on that side. I think its the first time it was ever used and it just so happened this message popped up. What's the correlation there?
