ANOTHER STRANGE FIND
Anyone have any idea what this is for?

The football shaped thing is solid iron.
It's 6.5" point to point, 3.5 inches at the widest point and 1.25" high.

It looks concave is it? If so it maybe a form for pounding out spoons or something when black smithing.
