I just purchased and installed this Tuner. Im currently running it on "Street" tune. Drove it from TSD back to work here in San Antonio and could really feel the difference. But I was wondering what tune others use? My truck is a daily driver and I drive about 80 miles a day. I don't plan on towing anything. How does the Performance tune compare to the Street tune?
My truck is completely stock except for the egr delete and a straight exhaust.
I'm using street tune too, together with Atlas 40 and original bolts. The difference over standard is amazing so I don't feel the need for more yet. I get about 1mpg more as well, but tire life may be reduced slightly
Atlas 40 on its own gave me more low- down torque, didn't feel any more power, and no mpg change. When I put the street tune in it wasn't so much a "I can feel the difference" it was "what the **** was that."
Turbo lag severely reduced and a completely new level of power. Driving in the rain is now a challenge, but one I'm happy to take on
I use the street tune as well I really don't need anything more. Ive used the performance tune a couple times it give some more power but its more "light switchy"...kinda like riding a 2-stroke 250 dirtbike. I will say the performance tune does yield the best mileage, I normally throw it on if im going for a long highway drive
You're right, street tune does seem to have a fairly linear power delivery, the more you push the more you go, and lowdown torque is really something. It's amazing pulling up a steep grade at 1200rpm, rumbling away.
In my old '04 F250 I had SCT SF3. Was running street tune, as that gave plenty of extra power. - I did try the performance tune for a couple of days... ...While it was fun, it also made the truck quite dangerous. You barely had to touch the pedal, and off we went sideways. =) You couldn't believe you were driving a truck! But for me it was just to try it out. The street tune was definitely enough for everything. AND I didn't want to risk braking anything in the engine with the performance tune.
For my current '06 F350 I'm not using anything, as still figuring out an issue and don't want to interfere with diagnosing it. But I'll most likely will be running street tune again...
