odd vin code

I picked up a 76 f150 today for next to nothing. Very strait body and needs some odds and ends. The strange thing i noticed though, The door tag shows
F1_ BLA38025 and the title shows f15BLA38025. Looking through all of the vin decoders, I cannot find anything listed as an f1. Did dmv add the 11th digit down the line? Is this going to be a problem for me? Everything matches, the title specifies it as an f15 ( meaning an f150) and the door tag specifies it as an f150. Thanks in advance.

Check the frame VIN just as a double check. More than likely the plate was mis-stamped at the factory.
You can get a replacement warranty plate from Kevin Marti

got it transfered over today. Holy ***** ***** that was a pain. First 3rd party mvd I went to told me the title was invalid because it says its a 76 but was first registered in 75 and that makes no sense to him. I tried to explain that you can go buy a 2017 right now and register it in december of 2016. No dice. After 4 trips to 2 different 3rd part mvd's and 2 trips to azmvd for inspection, the title is in my name. Dumped it off the trailer and had it running in 30 minutes.

Typical DMV pinhead bureaucrat. There are some good ones who can think and have common sense, but those are few and far between....and getting "fewer".
Production for the next model year usually begins around August and they go on sale late September/ early October.
Glad you got it sorted out and (even better) running .
Now, relax and have fun with it.
