Air Compressor on a PSD
Hey all... Here's a question. I'm an avid offroader in my jeeps in WA. And in all of them I have built in an aircompressor from a volvo/York AC pump in reverse routing to an air tank to store air presure. it works great for airing up tires running and air tools. Has anyone built on an aircompressor to their PSD's? if so what did you have to do for a mounting bracket, mounting location? I understand that because the air pumps run off the rotation of a belt on the engine. And a diesel runs at a low rpm. so it would take a while to build pressure. but I'm curious if anyone has had any luck or thaughts on installing one. I've got an 01 F-350 XLT PSD CC LB DRW 4X4.

Well it appears that no one has any thaughts on this idea of mine.. but I'm sure there are some out there that may have tried it.... I'm gonna give it a shot.. and see what happens. I can't help it. tinkering for me is a force of nature.

Foneguy: Do a search on "air horns" (in this forum) and you will find some threads on guys that have mounted air compressors and tanks on their trucks. I believe "nafzimo" has a setup on his truck, might have some pics is gallery, not sure!
