I already posted this over on the Ranger board, but it looks like this gets more hits. I have a '92 Ranger XLT 2.3L 5-speed transmission. I noticed yesterday morning that there was excessive free travel on the clutch pedal. The whole clutch assembly is less than one year old. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be?
First of all, thanks for answering. Second, I did check my master cylinder. It was dry. This is highly irritating as I just had the regular maintenance done last Monday; you know, oil change, tire pressure, fluids checked, etc. I put some more fluid in the chamber, pumped the clutch about 10-15 times, and it works perfectly now.
