Lost power windows. Motor or wiring. Thinking wiring.
I lost my power windows, first the driver side then the passenger. Both windows went out within a day of one-another. Replace window breaker in fuse panel. Still no action.
Don't think it's the motor. Anyone ever run into this?
How did you fix it?

I ran into this problem w/ my 94 f150. It was in my driver's side door. I never had time to fix it and then one day out of the blue it started working again. Now my passenger side window will only work from the driver's side button and not the passenger. I need to replace that switch when I get some time. But as far as the motor goes it's going to be a pain to fix. you gotta drill out the pop rivets in the door and pull window motor out. Just another one of Fords "award winning" designs..

Well, do you hear the motors run at all ? If you hear them run, all you need is gear kits or just the "*****" that fit inside the gear. Either way, you must remove the motor to fix it, but you dont need to remove the regulator and glass as an assembly. One you have the door panel off, ther will be 3 dimples in the sheet metal, even with the 3 bolts that hold the motor to the regulator. Using a drill bit that is a hair bigger then the outside of your 8mm or 5/16, 1/4" drive socket, drill right into the dimples through the sheet metal. Now you can insert the socket through the hole to remove the motor bolts. You may have to support the glass from falling down. If the rivets for the regulator are loose from age, you can drill them 1 at a time and replace with 1/4 bolts while you are there. Rebuilt motors are available, but you can usually get away with removing the rear cap on the motor to clean out the brushes, but thats a chance you take.

If on the other hand you get nothing from the motors, and since both have failed at about the same time, you probably have a pitted or corroded switch. You can replace the switch, but if you have a little digital dexterity and patience, you can take the switch apart, clean the contacts with sandpaper, lube with silicon grease, re-assemble and be back in business.
