Big project

I bought a 94 power stroke, previous owners won't be honest with me on how they've ran it into the ground and it ran when parked. I am believing that my whole fuel system could be fauity as it will crank and crank for ever but it won't fire, I heard one injection take place but that's it and I stopped playing with it until I dug deeper to try and learn a bit more. How can I got about diagnosing fuel system from tank to injectors, any pointers I should know? Any and all knowledge is well appreciated in advance, I will stop at nothing to bring this beast to life and make it breathe fire. Thank you

Welcome to FTE.

A bit more info on the truck would be great,
Also what makes you think its something with the fuel system?
I ask because theres a lot of things that can make these rigs not start. Have any way to check and monitor the vitals?

The motor wouldn't fire just turn over I don't think I'm getting fuel to the injection pump and when I poured diesel into the injection pump and then turn it over it still wouldn't fire. They have ran the truck out of diesel as well as one of the tsnks hand a hole rusted in it so I believe the lift pump could gotten pluged or something. The two front connectors for my uvch gaskets are fried as wellaswell

I'm honestly just assuming my fuel system is shot. I've been doing lots of reading and feel I know enough to get into trouble. I can't get it to run though so I'm not sure how much a code reader will do for me but I have access to one as well as a full shop.

If it's a powerstroke it doesn't have an injection pump. Post a photo of the engine and we may need to be moved to the idi section.

If it is a powerstroke unplug the fuel heater replace the maxi fuse and try again.

What is the 8th letter in the VIN? an M or K = an IDI 7.3, while an F = a Powerstroke. The stroke engine was used in the mid 1994 run, so the 94 could have an M coded non turbo IDI, an K coded turbo IDI or the F coded stroke. The displacement and the oil filter is the only common things on these 2 engines.

So then you know it doesn't have a injection pump. Fuel pump, yes. The fried plugs could be your problem. Is the hpop full of oil?

Looks like plow related stuff.

Make sure your harnesses that go under the valve covers are good. If not replace them. While you are at it ohm the glow plugs.

I am sure others will chime in.

I need to replace the box on it and a fuel tank, front one I believe small hole rusted in it. There was two winches installed but I pulled them both off as they were both connected to the 4 pack of solenoids. Three was for the 4ton and then 1 solenoid to the 2.5ton. Im going to pull the covers and check under there. I know it's been driven from start up in the morning and ran hard probably no oil changes or any maintenance of any kind. Transfer case is almost impossible to shift ( I had a f250 but with a 460 e4od and it wasn't that bad). That's without any digging
