Hello I am currently restoring a 1954 F100. I have the frame pretty much finished with the only thing left to do is installing the tranny and drive shaft. The next step is bodywork. The cab is in pretty decent shape with minimal rust except in the usual spots and a couple bullet holes here and there. For the rust I am going to be putting in new cab corners and then there is one other spot on the floor behind the seat. For the bullet holes, there is some buck shot that hit right on the top of the windshield frame and it went trough and hit the back of the cab. I am fixing to start on body work and I am going to be teaching myself how to weld, etc. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I also have a parts truck that I am going to start parting out. If anyone in the Austin area is interested in parts let me know. I'll be posting pics soon.

 

I am not in Austin but always interested! Good luck on your body work. Try to get the right tools for the job if you can afford them. You will never regret it. Have fun!
On the welding. Practice a lot prior to doing the real thing.
