I think all places of business should close on Thanksgiving and Christmas or at least give the employees the OPTION of not working.

Some mention of mandatory Sunday work this weekend. There's another post mentioning they were 300 people short for the Friday shift.

It's nice when employees can get the black friday weekend off. Us letter carriers have been slammed since the beginning of November and are going to get hammered through Christmas.

I'm certain that Ford's inventory is up to allow for short shutdowns.

In the 30 years I worked for Ford, I can remember working many Thanksgiving Days. A large part of our plant worked on Christmas Day and New Years Day also.

We had a lot of machinery that operated 24-7-365 days a year.

Hey Mark, my truck was built yesterday, Nov. 23rd., the day before Thanksgiving. When I told my wife she started worrying that maybe the employee's might overlook something or do a less than perfect job due to getting excited over the holiday. I told her that I didn't think that would happen, however, to ease her mind that I'd ask you if that's a valid concern.
Her anxiety is partly due to being a worry wart, and partly because back in 2001 we bought 2 Super Duty trucks. One of them was great, the other was in the shop for 29 different issues, with over 100 visits to the dealership before Ford bought it back. The truck was built just before a holiday.

My truck was also built the day before Thanksgiving. I am hoping that isn't considered a Friday build! Somebody must be working Thanksgiving though because ETIS was updated on Thanksgiving day.

I have no answer for this. I never spent a lot of time in the plants.

There must be a run of King Ranch trucks. Mine is a single rear wheel. My serial number ends with 99376. Is yours close? If so we may want to compare notes if we have any issues later on. Bob
