EVAP system diagram for 2.3L
Hi all. I have a '94 Ranger XLT with the 4 cylinder 2.3L motor. I recently failed my smog test here in CA because the evap system would not hold pressure. All the emissions were perfect, but it wouldn't hold pressure. I changed the fuel filler neck -- it was cracked -- but there is still a problem somewhere. Is there a diagram that shows where all the hoses are for the evap system? I'm thinking that some other hoses might be cracked since they have been there over 20 years. Is this a good place to start looking or should I be checking something else? Thanks.

I see you don't have any replies so I'll see if I can get things started. If you have trouble code clues, post All of the Numbers, as they can help focus a trouble shoot.
Good feedback on finding & repairing the fuel filler neck. If you haven't had the computer cleared, driven some until you get a lit CEL, do that before rescanning. If it's been driven, a CEL relit & it's been scanned, post up the new trouble code Numbers too & lets see if they'll suggest a good place to begin your trouble shoot.
Some beginning thoughts for consideration, let us know what you find.

Well, there was a rubber hose under the truck that ran along the rail that was loose where it connected to a hard plastic hose. I put a clamp on that and crossed my fingers.
Took it back to smog check and passed!
I ended up changing the fuel filler neck and putting a clamp on the loose hose and the evap system held pressure.
