looking for a nice 4wd short bed frame to put under my '65 F-100, I have one that is a bit ratey, so I figured I'd ask before I start working on this one.
Good luck with your hunt but beware the fact that the core identity of a dent is the frame b/c that's where the definitive version of the VIN resides. In some states that will require a title that has a matching VIN so do check your state's requirements before settling on the frame that will define the truck and who actually owns it.
There is no VIN on the cab and the warranty plate on the door isn't definitive b/c doors are so easily swapped around.
as for frame #'s, It's been rolling on a 79 frame for the last 10 years or so, in Mass. they don't even check the dash vin when you register or title a vehicle, the only time it is used is when you inspect, and they go by the dash or door post vin.
For the rest of you guys, I already have an nice longbed frame, and I have a not so pretty short bed frame, I was hoping for the right thing, if I have to modify I'll start with what I have.
