Slow night tonight on FTE 48-56!
I guess all our trucks are running well and looking good as there are very few new
posts tonight. I am getting bored tonight. Nothing new on eBay to look at, Facebook is boring anymore with people bragging about their kids, telling me what they are, etc.
So I guess I'll to to bed. Maybe tomorrow I will have more to read and comment on FTE!

Hi Abe, If I could get my son to finish his rock crawler and get it out of my garage I would be working on mine.
At least we're starting to see Black Friday sales to get some deals on parts. My truck is running well and I have been getting one ton loads of rock in it for my landscaping.
Front suspension and steering is next on my list. Then it's time to start metal work.

My project has been at a standstill for several weeks. My replacement compressor was delivered to my garage door Friday, and I am pleased to report--at North Star's expense. That's a positive development. This week-end I'll have some help to get it moved back into the corner and rebolted to the floor. My garage heater was supposed to be installed before Dec. 1st, but it looks as though it may be delayed. Nothing unusual about that. Everything seems to take much longer than expected, and when you are retired and not in a hurry--I guess that's alright.
I have some body work to finish up, and I was hoping, over the winter, to pull the head and replace the valve guides and grind or replace the valves. As we have been discussing, my truck runs pretty well, but the compression is low and it uses a lot of oil. I'd like the engine to be strong enough to maybe think about making the trip to next year's Truckstock--for sure I'd like to be at least ready for the 200 mile trip to the gathering Bob Jones is thinking about hosting in Germantown.
Thanks, Abe for your interest and all the help and support you have given for my project.

Go on eBay and buy NOS striker plates. You get them quicker.

I noticed that things had slowed down alot with FTE on our forum. The reason on my posts is, i had to start some home improvement and the cold weather has set in.Me and my sons working full time which hasnt left much time for the trucks. I guess i'm going have to accept as i get older I am slower and dont get as much done.

A project I do want to do that I have been putting off is making a new headboard for the 55 flatbed. I've had the wood for months. I just didn't have the time. The wife is going away this weekend. I think I will paint the boards in the kitchen where it is nice and warm!

Hi Abe- if you are that bored come down to Lexington and help me figure out my wipers. I have given up on the vacuum system and have a 6 volt positive ground motor. The vacuum went back and forth at the connector and the elec goes around. The piece that goes on the motor is easy enough but the length of the connector shafts to the actual wiper has to be figured out and I am not an engineer.
