Valvoline PBE 5w-40 Full Synthetic & PB 15W-40 On Sale

Once again, NAPA has Valvoline 5w-40 Premium Blue Extreme on sale for $18.99 per gal. Many of us consider it to be one of the better oils on the market for HEUI injector engines due to superior shear protection.

It is also less than Rotella T6 at this price point.

15-40 is also on sale.

Also, if you haven't already done so, you might want to read the treads concerning the switch to the CK-4 standard for our diesel engines.

Hoping some others will chime in on how they like this oil. I run the 15-40 in some of the gensets at work but they are not HEUI type of set up

Ive run rotella T6 and their 15-40 (truck HATES the 15-40), delo 5-40 and valvoline 5 and 15-40. Hands down runs the smoothest on 5-40 valvoline, i dont even use archoil with it most of the time. I run 15-40 valvoline all summer and the injectors are just as quiet with 5-6k on it as when i poured it in. My trucks favorite oil, its all the previous owner used as well. I only used valvoline in my old 5.4L as well.

IN between the 7.3 in my sig and several others, a friend with a 6.0 and now a couple of 6.7's, we are buying all we can get.

I have tried almost every premium brand that there is to include: Amsoil, Schaeffers, Mobile1, and finally Rotella T6 and nothing seems to hold up as well all the way up to 5k miles as Val PBE. The injectors seem to like it the best. They are definitely quieter and cold weather starts are faster/easier which is important with the 7.3 and especially 6.0 injectors as you know. We run it year-round.

Just a little anecdotal information from several guys that is backed by some hard science if you are willing to dig a little. Hope it helps.
