I have a 2013 F350 superduty. a little history, at 138000 miles i had the original spark plugs replaced because of multiple misfire codes and running issues. the drivers side exhaust manifold was cracked also. so i had the plugs replaced with factory plugs and the manifold replaced. the truck runs much better and the mpg have increased also. i still had a misfire on cyl 8 only so i replaced the coil on that cyl too. the misfire still occurs only when i first start it in the morning and it has sat all night, and it happens only after about 15 seconds of running and doesn't come back until the next day. do you all think i could have a bad injector or do you think the computer learned some bad info while the plugs were so bad for so long. do you think i need to have the dealer reset the computer so it can relearn under the better conditions?
i am sure all the plugs were changed. there was no electrode left. it only misfires about 15 seconds after a cold start and i can't feel or hear any misfire. it just throws a code on cyl 8 every time and only once unless i let the truck sit for at least four hours.
The next thing I would try is unhook the battery for 10 minutes or so to make the pcm start from scratch. A!so try moving that plug wire to another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the wire.
