I just noticed a small oil leak from my pan and was quite surprised to find that it was not the plug, but a tiny hole not far from the plug, which I was able to enlarge quite easily with a scraper. I can only assume that it has rusted through. I was wondering how common this is? Any ideas out there?
Yes,
The same thing happened to me on a 1977 Ford E-150 with a 351 Windsor.
In Fact, I thought it was happening to my 1984 6.9L diesel, so I bought a new pan for it, but it turns out that I don't need it after all, and now I'm stuck with it.
