That would an Ignition Control Module (ICM).

The Engine Control Module (in Ford terms a Powertrain Control Module) is located behind the driver side kick panel. It's accessed from the engine side of the firewall.

A bad PCM can prevent spark. Unplug it, then check for spark.

For reference the PCM plug is located near the brake booster:

That's not the ECM/PCM. That's the ICM/TFI module. It only controls the spark and nothing else.

You probably have a broken wire between the coil and TFI module. Throwing parts at it, is not going to help. You need to do diagnostics.

Ford Ignition Module Test. Fender Mounted Module (ICM).
