I've got a 1997 f150, 4.6. It sat for year and a half, trans went out and it wasn't my primary vehicle so wasn't to worried about fixing it. Until now, well got a new trans put in it, fired it up. And had a misfire, #3 and #8. Changed plugs and wires, same thing. Getting spark at the plug. So I changed both injectors, still nothing! I'm kind of stumped now🙄, any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Were at a wall on this, as reported.
Are you sure the engine had no miss when it was it was parked?
Did anyone work around the top of the engine before this?
The problem is a motor just does not lose 2 cylinders one on each bank just from setting unless something happened.
Your options are now to,
Recheck the plug wire fire order,
check compression.
.
Since you have spark and changed injectors there is no other cause except cylinder or fire order issues.
Good luck.
I just checked compression and only getting 50 psi on #8 cylinder. The other checked fine and was just a loose connection. So at least now I know more. Guess it's off with the head.
