E brakes

My e brakes won't work I've got enough pad left I've spun the adjuster screw it still doesn't work as far as I can tell it's all there anybody know something I don't that could make it barely work

What year is the truck, what cab type, 2WD or 4WD?

See if the cable has slack in it,I think the adjuster is on the driver side by the front fuel tank
