2.3L plug removal

I owned a 1991 ranger with the 2.3 without a/c. I replaced the plugs many times on the drivers side. The first plug on drivers side near timing belt can be removed by taking the top alternator bolt out and losen the bottom bolt. Then pull the whole assembly towards the fender. The second and third plugs pose a problem. I used a 3/8 flexable drive extension and 1 or 2 6 inch extenisions. Also, This side is tough to take out the plug wires. If you have a pair of long version spark plug wire puller use the pliers. Other solution is buy a new set of wires and replace as you change the plugs. the last plug in the back near fire wall can removed with the 3/8 flexable drive extension. when installing each plug wire make sure you apply a conditive grease on the spark plug boot wire to the plug. Makes sliding the boot on much easier. Good luck Aypranger
