I have a 99 F250 PSD that I bought used. I would like to put a camper on it. I am wondering how to tell if it has the "camper package", and also if anyone knows the best place to get the frame mounted tie downs for campers.
Thank you!

In 1999, the camper package was: front stabilizer bar(4x2 only), rear stabilizer bar, auxiliary rear springs, heavy duty 78AH(750cca) battery,(gas engines), heavy duty 115 amp alt(gas engines), slide in camper certification.
I'd say if it has overload springs and a rear sway bar then it most likely has the camper package.
I can't keep track of all the options for different years. Many camper package components also come with other truck options and these things change from year to year. The only thing that only comes with the camper package is the piece of paper in the glovebox that tells you how heavy your camper can be based on where the CG is. You should be able to get another copy from a Ford using your VIN.
For camper tie downs, I highly recommend the Torklift frame mounted tie-downs. You can see them at their web site: www.torklift.com . They can ship or you can buy from a local dealer near you.
