If you need cargo space, why not consider an inexpensive roof rack. Or look for one of those cargo platforms that fit in the rear receiver.
I am looking at building a rack for mine. If you are handy at all, it is possible to build a simple platform for a couple hundred. That would be a nice looking one.
That's quite a load. But I meant a full rack. I am gonna build one 4x7. That would provide enough room for everyone to have a small suitcase. Unless your family packs like mine. I have one small duffel that I can pack everything I need for a week. They need 2 bags to go overnight. And if my wife decides to bring the dog, we need the excursion for 4 people to go somewheres for the weekend.
You must do a great job packing. And a fine looking family.
Likely the airbag, cruise, and horn are the clock spring. A relatively simple fix, and you can get them relatively cheap- heck you could probably get away with a cheap used unit from any f-250/350 and it should work just the same. Find someone local parting one out and toss it in, fixed.
As for the diff- depends what's actually wrong with it, but the process of working on a diff isn't overly difficult, especially with the wealth of knowledge available on the internet- finding a walk-through style video is relatively easy for most repairs, or just swap in a new one from another truck, also fairly easy.
