Slow cranking 460
I purchased the truck with it rolling over slow. I removed the coil wire, replaced the ground, positive cables, solenoid and battery. Starter was removed, all terminals and mounting points cleaned and tested. The no load test showed it wasn't drawing too many amps and was spinning quickly. I even ran jumper wires from the negative battery terminal to the housing on the starter, and from the positive to the ring and spade terminal. While all of this did speed it up a little, even with the jumper wires, it still rolls over slow.
Could the starter still be an issue, or do you think the problem is mechanical? I do not know the history of the engine. Starter is an OEM F37U-11131-CA. Is this a gear reduction starter?
