I have a 2011 F250 CCLB 4x4 and am looking to get a set of aftermarket wheels for it. I found a nice set of 18x9 XD Addicts for a good price. My question is; my truck is hub centric and the wheels are lug centric. I have seen mixed opinions on the importance of proper pairing. It seems odd that if it is so important that super duty wheels are hub centric that there are basically no options for hub centric wheels. Please provide some input ASAP, as I need to know before I cannot get this deal. Thanks to all1
Mickey Thompson and FUEL both make wheels that have the correct hub bore. I'm sure there are more of you look hard enough. I've not dealt with the hub rings, but I believe they are just plastic and help you get the wheel centered perfect, you don't have to have them if you pay attention to what your doing. They serve no "strength" purpose. Someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong. I personally would not buy a wheel without the correct hub bore, no matter how good the deal.
Also, check the website, just because they aren't advertised as hub centric, doesn't mean they don't have the correct bore size, it just means that they use lug centric lug nuts. In my opinion, that's a good thing to have both. I believe the bore size is 125.2mm
Every after market wheel that I've used and seen has been lug centric. There is no problem going that route. Finding an after market wheel that matches the factory wheel bore would just be a bonus, but they will still be lug centric.
