Customer Service Experiences?

So as a lot of the guys on here i didn't buy my truck from my local dealer for two reasons. first being they wouldn't work with me on price and second they didn't have the truck and they weren't getting it any time soon.

I take it in today for some questions i had about minor issues.
-tailgate step not coming out at all
-sync 3 console cover not closing smoothly
-door moulding has ripples in it
-reat seat backs not lining up

I didn't go in upset at all nor was i saying these were actual problems i just wanted them looked at and wanted to see what they thought.

I spoke with 3 different people first thing they all ask is where i bought it from and why i didn't buy from them. Right after those questions they just all act unprofessional just keep saying its fine its fine without even looking at anything and then one says go look at one on the lot to compare and then the other goes yea go back to the dealer you bought it from and check there lot and see if there trucks do the same.

Normally i would respond differently but I have 2 other dealers within a 30 minute drive and i figured ill just head there so i got in the truck and drove off.
I was very upset how they treated me as a customer but this gives me an excuse to drive the truck some more so i was fine.

I called one of the dealers and the guy was on the phone said all those concerns are either minor adjustments or ill have to order some parts. come in and ill take care of you i don't give a damn where u bought truck from. Im in in service and ill make sure we get your truck working like its supposed to.

I just posted on here to vent and to see how others who bought from out of town are being treated by local dealer.

We have 4 local dealers here. I bought my 2015 from the farthest out because he had what I wanted in stock. I've had the truck to two of the closer dealers for minor items and both were happy to do the work and not one questioned why I bought it where I did. If I were you I'd contact the owner or sales manager of the closer dealer and tell him/her that the people you talked too are the reason you didn't buy from them.

Sounds like a rotten dealership that did not deserve your business from the get go. I would email their regional service rep (FoMoCo employee) and let them know what they are up to. I would also push it a bit higher as well and CC the dealerships managers and owners in on it. That way they see what is being said but are you are the one in charge.

I did not purchase from my local dealership for a variety of reasons. I know your pain.

But you purchased it from somewhere else and you want them to fix it. I can see if you were passing through the area and it broke down. You need to bring it to the one who made money off of you to fix and make the minor adjustments.

Warranty is warranty. All dealers get paid for warranty work. Unless those "adjustments" are not warranty then I can see them not wanting to do it.

I'm thinking about getting in contact with the higher ups. But honestly the reason why i dissent make a bigger deal on the spot was because i like the truck and it wasn't a major issue its something i can wait to get done when i have time to drive to the next closest dealer 30 minutes.

but I'm just thinking its just a horrible way of doing business knowing how often people buy vehicles you would think they would want to earn my business for a future business.

Too bad you didn't get video of their responses. That would go viral - at least in the truck world it would.

You are delusional. He wants FORD to fix it, not necessarily this other dealer. EVERY dealer is a representative of FORD MOTOR COMPANY and WILL fix any issues the truck has REGARDLESS of where purchased. This attitude from the dealer is exactly what cost them the sale in the first place! Some dealers never learn.

A quick call to a FORD REP or complaint will fix any problems you are having. Ford takes this seriously and I'm sure the owner of the dealer who treated you that way would too if he knew about it. Dealers make a lot of $ off repairs and can't choose if they want to repair the problems or not, it's their responsibility as FORD dealers to take care of FORD customers no matter where the truck was purchased.

I can't wait to take mine in for service just for this reason. I asked 3 different salesmen at my dealer to call me when I could order the 17 SD. TO THIS DAY NOT 1 PHONE CALL! None wanted to wait for the sale, they wanted to "make me a great deal" on a 2016 I didn't want. I went half way across the country to deal with Seminole Ford of Seminole, Oklahoma. Hands down the absolute BEST dealership I have ever dealt with. Sales and service were amazing! Every step through the sales dep was awesome then on to service to mount the trailer cam plug & trailer tire monitor......again a great bunch of people. First night out my left headlight daytime running LED partially quit. Back to the dealer 8 am next morning when they opened, unfortunately didn't have the part-NO PROBLEM, we'll pull 1 off a truck on the lot (the ONLY other truck they had w/the LED's). This kind of customer service is what customers remember and come back to time and time again.

Achec, I wouldn't waste any more time with that dealer (if you have another choice close) but would however make a complaint to Ford so they know what's going on. The attitude of "take it back to where you bought it" WILL bite them in the ***!

achec, I see you are in California. Where if you don't mind me asking? I'm close to Tulare/Visalia area. These dealers are about as worthless as yours, I'm just curious if one of these are the ones who treated you that way? These guys actually have a "mark up" ABOVE MSRP on the SD trucks and many others. This is becoming more common for west coast dealers to do. I'm sick of trying to do business here locally. Would love to keep my money locally but these guys leave you with no choice but to go elsewhere!

thanks guys for the responses i agree like if its under warranty can't you just take a look. there was two other customers in the service bay just looking like are they really saying this?

Imma do just that jace i will be going to a dealer about 25 miles north of me the guy told me to make an appointment rather then walk in so he can have a tech walk thru with me to fix what is possible right on the spot or order what needs to be ordered. The guy was super nice and helpful.
i take it as a win win now i have another excuse to drive somewhere get truck serviced and have some enjoyment out of driving it.

but honestly those sorry asses couldn't ruin my mood even after they tried i have this grin on my face since October 29th the day i took delivery of this beast and i don'tthink its going anywhere in the near future. the trucks bada$$ness> sorry a$$ dealer attitude

Glad to see you have a positive outlook bud. I get fired up when dealers have poor customer service. I agree on driving a little further to give your business to a dealer who will appreciate it. This dealer may well earn your business on the next purchase, that's what it's all about! That first one not only lost the sale but has succeeded in losing the service work now too!

Congrats on the truck btw-I've only had mine for a week and am grinning ear to ear. 2000 miles on it and counting! Can't wait to tow with it!!!

Wish you the best of luck on the issues you are having!

Im thinking we all are grinning ear to ear ford really went all out on this thing. most of you guys came from ford into this new 17 this is my first ever ford and to say I'm impressed is an understatement.

also the issues I'm having are minor cosmetic things i can look over but I'm sure they will be taken care of in time. I too get pi$$ed off with bad customer service but honestly didn't think it was worth the headache.

seems like both of us had our fair share of interaction with jacka$$es on the dealer front before finally purchasing our trucks.
