My 1979 C600 is missing the latch from the glove compartment. I don't know if it had a button, key, or whatever. I just have the door with a hole in it where a latch once was. The dash and glove box door are both metal. I'd like to see a pic of what it should look like so I know if I am on the right track when I am hunting down a replacement. Any help would be great!
My 1979 C600 is missing the latch from the glove compartment. No such thing.
I just have the door with a hole in it where a latch once was. The dash and glove box door are both metal.
The hole in the glove box door is for: D3KZ-6006164-A .. ****-Instrument Panel Glove Compartment Door (shown as 06164 in pic) / Obsolete ~ 4 available NOS
There's no striker plate, because there's no push button or lock cylinder.
The hinges have springs (B7C-8106112-A Right & B7C-8106113-A Left) that keep the door shut tight / Obsolete
There are dozens of each spring available NOS .. as they're the same as 1957/60 F100/1100 & 1957/86 C Series Tilt Cabs.
Thank you TONS for the info. I am not sure if I am gonna go original or just put a generic **** and a couple magnets in. I am actually relieved there is no lock on the glovebox because I'd have to carry an extra key. I snatched a copy of the diagram (thank you again) because I figure it will help me when I need to put a center channel speaker in or get behind the instrument panel.
