Help with 4R70W install
Help please!
Just finished installing a used 4R70W trans in my 1995 F-150 XL 4x4 with a 302. It was a replacement for the same, so no changes were made. The replacement worked when taken out of previous truck. However, when finished, the transmission doesn't seem to work. The motor sounds like it is engaging something when I shift into gear, but the truck will not move.
This is my first installation, so I assume I missed something, even though everything looks back the same as with the old one. The ATF was drained and replaced with new Mercon. The battery had been out of the truck in the interim, can the computer loose info to run the transmission? Is there any electronic fuse or the like in the transmission? The overdrive light flashed when we started it up. Does that mean codes have changed?
Any possibility it is the transfer case, and how could I tell? Lots of questions, any one answer might help.
