9C485 is the basic part number for the valve cover emission certification decal.
You're missing the suffix letters, it should be E7AE-9C485-XX.
These were never a "stock item". Back in the day, if you needed a replacement, you had to take the number to the Ford dealer and they would order a replacement. These were pretty much made to order.
Uh huh. I like and respect Mike, but there's no way he has the same parts experience as I do. No one else on FTE does either. I've been doing this shinola for 45 years, longer than many FTE members have been alive.
You on the other hand, have no parts experience and no parts catalogs. You take info and pics from Mike and my posts...then repost them when members ask for specifics.
When you don't give us credit, some members assume you did this jazz yourself.
And btw: E7AE = 1987 Crown Victoria, there's no actual basic part number of 9C485. To get one, the VIN and the ID number off the decal have to be passed along to FoMoCo.
Skills is not the same as experience. And I did not say miko0o0o0 had more than you. I used the word "skills" to relay my opinion of his ability to locate part #'s and explain things, just like you do.
He has the same ability/capability to locate parts and does it as well IMO. Dang right I do not have "parts counter" experience, never said I did.
Ah I DO have a master Parts and Accessories Catalog on CD (thanks to mikeo0o0o0). I just do not have the time to get to know it as well as I would like to. Beside you have that dept all under control along with mikeo0o0o0.
I am out getting slightly used OEM parts and helping out FTE members, in my own way. So nana bobo... You are not a god, just a man like the rest of us.
I never said I located all this info BY MYSELF. I never have said "look at what I did". I give credit where credit it due. AND I even include YOU and mike and mil1ion...jesh. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...then-some.html

Reason: Back space.. back space... to keep it nice. AGAIN :)
The letters CJM was under the part number. E7AE-9C485 this lablel is on my valve cover on the drivers side with tune up specs and vacuum hose diagram.
So the E7AE could tell me the 460 in my 79 F-350 came out of a Crown Victoria ?????
Check the VIN, preferably on the frame. If the fourth character is not J, the truck didn't come with a 460. Also, if it's a 4x4, it didn't come with a 460
Number Dummy & Mike on my thermostat housing there is 2 heat activated vacuum switches the lower one for the EGR valve with 2 ports, do you have a part no. for this part and is it still available?

Those are ported vacuum switches. Seeing as this motor came out of something else, probably the best way to get the correct switch is to look on the switch for a number. If it's an OEM switch, there should be an engineering number on it. If you find it, it can be crossed over to the correct part number.
