For those contemplating an order this reinforces my suggestion that you do not sign for the order the first day in the showroom. Have the dealer give it a priority 99 which will hold it in the system. Take the build sheet home and compare it to the Order Guide which you should have already studied and highlighted the important options and be sure your choices are correct. Read through it all a second time to ensure there is not something you will regret not ordering later. Then go back to the dealer and have them make the changes (or not) you want and change the priority and put your money down. Then check the final order sheet the dealer sent off to Ford. Do not count on the dealer to get it right. AND if you make a change after the order is selected make sure you get a copy of that confirmed change as well. Even the best sales people forget or don't get it right every time. Be your own advocate.
And as for installing your own cab lights? If you don't feel competent I am sure there are plenty of aftermarket customizers out there who would do a fine job. And have the dealer pay for it.
In a way, you need to take some responsibility. When you order a truck, you get a copy of the order and this allows you to confirm options. If the dealer does not give you this, just ask for it.
So yes, you asked, and the dealer screwed up. If they admit they recall you asking for this option, then I'd force the issue and make them install the lights. If they say they don't remember this conversation, you're probably out of luck.
Humm dealer told me it was part of the preferred equipment package.. They already admitted that they did and made a mistake. I also made a mistake thinking the dealer knew what they were doing. Being my first time ordering a vehicle its a learning experience for me. That being said I'm sure they will fix this. I bought my zo6 there last year, buying this truck and looking at an Escalade for the wife. They know that both the truck and Escalade are on the line now .
