Roll top bed covers

Hi All, I know that there has been several threads discussing rolltop covers but wanted to know if anyone has a rolltop and regularly transports dirt bikes in the bed. I'm a little concerned about the durability of the canisters and if they can withstand the front wheel of a motorcycle up against it and having the front of the bike tied down. Similar to this set up:

It looks like you are getting a man sized bed with that F450. It shouldn't be an issue with a dirt bike. If you had a "soccer-mom" sized bed on a SRW, it might be an issue, but with the 8' bed you are GTG.

Sounds like an opportunity to fabricate a rack for the front of the bed to shield the roll up canister and weld a slot with tie downs for the front of the bike. Any opportunity to fire up a TIG welder and fab stainless is a good opportunity.

I have used an Extang Express rollup cover and do not have a problem hauling my dirt bikes and motorcycles. The difference is this type of covers rolls up, rather than into a canister. I think the canister style will pose a problem.

Agreed, I had an access rolltop cover that I've used and hauled bikes with no issues, would like to try and somehow make the hard rolltop work on the new truck though.

I have a Truxedo Lopro QT. It rolls up than can be easily removed if necessary.
