Honestly, I had this same epiphany with my new truck. I leveled my 2015 and, in truth, it was all for looks. When summing it up, this is the true Pro and Con list:

Pros:
1. Looked cool (fit 35" tires and aftermarket wheels - and look awfully good)!
Cons:
1. Worse off road (35" tires rubbed with less travel than factory wheels and tires and no lift);
2. Expensive (to do it right, I used full replacement springs, shocks, trac bar, castor shims, steering stabilizer, tires and wheels = $thousands);
3. Worse ride (became stiffer due to shocks and tires - though the shocks did help when towing);
4. Introduce steering wobble (say what you will, lifts and leveling help introduce this beast, and you forever fight getting rid of it);
5. Looks ridiculous when towing (if you use your truck, it does look silly to put weight in the back and watch it sag);
6. Looks even more ridiculous if you have to go back to factory 275/65r20 snow tires for winter;
7. Have to adjust headlights - compounding the problem when towing (not a huge pain, but something that must be done);
8. Worse fuel economy (leveling and 35" tires = 2-3mpg).

And after all that, I still leveled that truck! LOL I suppose it shows how much I valued looks at the time. As for this new truck, while I considered leveling it initially, I think I just like it too much just the way it is.

I just found a way to level my truck relatively cheaply. I just added 900lbs of sand to the bed of my truck for winter driving

That's really funny but, it's not going to do a thing for larger tires under the front end or a heavy plow. It always amazes me when people ask me why do I have the truck lifted , meanwhile Ford has just increased the height of the 2017 super duty almost 2 inches over prior years. I pulled up to my dealership and park my truck next to a 2017 F-350 XLT 6.7 almost the same height as my lifted truck. Now if Ford would go 9 inch rims that would allow a 35 inch tire to stay underneath the truck without ugly fender flares I'd be in heaven LOL take care
