3 Seat Crew Cab.
SO, today we emptied all the accumulated equipment, junk and other stuff out of the back, and wandered over to the '89, that had the original seats from the front of my truck (when I went to the captain's chairs and power cooler armrest setup.) We measured things and figured that the seats would fit in the back (it's a crew cab) so went ahead, and sure enough, the thing fit like it was made for it. We removed the driver's side seat, and the center silly seat, and installed it in the back, with one seat remaining, mounted the spare and a fire extinguisher on the now visible frame, and strapped everything down. If I can find a Bronco Captain's chair for the passenger side, I will swap it out for the truck seat, but anyway, we will have 3 very comfy bucket seats in a crew cab. Somehow, there is more leg room in the back with the front seat frame in there, than there was with the rear seat itself. I need to figure out a way to have a cup holder in the back that doesn't look to junk..
I am going to build a frame up fromt he seat rail frame to mount a hard cover for the wheel, with compartments for other junk, and have the wheel accessible from the open rear door only. That way will look better I think.
When the weather drops below 95º tonight we will put the original bench rear seat from my truck, into the '89... This is getting like musical chairs, Nothing has the original seats in the right places..

So, anyone who wants to have better arrangements in the back of the crew cab, the front seat frame fits like it was made for it.
The mind boggles at what everyone could come up with, for mounting in the back.If I can manage it, I will build a frame, with plywood panels fitted, and mount a laptop, with mapping software, a printer, and GPS connections, with the new fancy mobile mount satellite internet connection.....
and be able to post things on here, whilst I am on walkabout.. I have the lap top, the software, and the GPS, just not mounted anywhere sensible, so getting it all properly mounted in the back, accessible from the rear seat will be a good thing. How much ventilation you think I would need for a 1500 watt 12 volt inverter?? Maybe I could run a hose from the a/c to the place I mount the inverter... Thinking is good for me. I need to mount a good transceiver back there too. The possibilities are endless, what fun.. I must have reached my second childhood, I am having way too much fun for a guy without a job.Theo
