There have been some comments about the new SD ac not being as effective as the previous generation. For those that have the new trucks, can you comment? It may be helpful to know if you still have warm weather where you are as well.
I noticed that my buddy's 2010 F-150 didn't seem to cool as well as my 2011 F-250 and I wonder if cab size has something to do with it? We both have crew cabs, but his is larger.
We are in Louisiana so we run the AC 13 months out of the year.
I live in Phoenix and it has been great here. I used to have my 2014 chevy 1500 on high most of the time and this SD I have to turn down. It gets Cold and blows well. This has been in 100+ degree weather.
I do have one complaint and that is the angling of the vents is a terrible design. If I actually get the angle just right, it is when the vent is being closed off. I wish Ford would have made the closing off of the vent and the angling of the vents different adjusters.

I'm from Texas and we KNOW hot, but the folks from Phoenix, they don't know it, they OWN IT!
Phoenix, AZ 22 Jun 1:30 pm, in the shade on my patio and then it really got hot later that day...
LOL, I am pretty sure I rode my motorcycle that day to work. Pretty sure I lost about 10 lbs of water on the way home too.
We set a record recently this year...Latest day ever to be over 100 degrees October 27, 2016.
I lived out there 6 years and overall it did not bother me too much except on Wed which was my welding day, so put on the leather and helmet, shut off the fans and pull down the big doors and weld all day, WOW, cook ya till your were done. But the worst was the humidity or lack thereof. At those temps the humidity would be around 2% and that was brutal, my feet bled all summer long.
But I did like not having doors and a full top on my Jeep and no windshield wipers....
Yes, but it's a DRY heat. Spent my first 5 1/2 years in the AF in Phoenix, driving around the flightline in a dark blue truck with no AC.
For folks that do not know what the dry heat of Phoenix is like, allow me to help:
Put home oven on CLEAN setting, this about 550 F, let stay on for about 1 hr to normalize the heat.
EXHALE FULLY
Open oven door, insert head and breathe DEEPLY
DRY HEAT in Phoenix...except Phoenix is REALLY HOT!
I have found my '17 F 350 KR gets cold MUCH quicker and the cold is colder...that said I have the 'moon roof' and wow does that pass heat into the cab, so if you are tall your head is in the heat till it cools down in the truck...
My 2004 wouldnt cool anything which is why that was part of my lemon law and Ford buy back case. My 2008 went through 2 blower motors and cooled ok at best. My 2013 went through 2 blower motors, a handful of blend doors, and cooled a little bit better but mainly due to the AC seats. My 2017 has cooled better than all three of those combined. I have been happy with the AC system to date, but only time will tell if blower motors and blend doors go out all the time.
My 2012 cooled fine if driving, however if you're stuck in traffic at idle the air would eventually warm up. Not sure if it was the RPMs of the engine or the lack of air flowing through the radiators.
I find this truck to have better A/C than my 2016. That being said, I used the A/C for a week back in early October when I got it, and for the last several weeks I've been enjoying the improved supplemental cabin heater, heated steering wheel, and heated seats.
