Going to upgrade my turbo to a GTP38R tomorrow. Upgrading because my original turbo has 162 K on it and seals appear leaking.
My question is do I keep the Wicked Wheel or use the Stock wheel?
My truck is daily driver and occasionally tow my 27 ft. 5th wheel in the mountains up to 8,000 ft.
I think my truck is stock on the injectors, and not chipped. I do have 4" stainless exhaust. Also have HPX tube.
Looking forward to your input today as tomorrow is the day.
SPTurbo SPX and RiffRaff 4/4 are great stock replacements. I went with the 4/4 only because the SPX was fairly new on the market at the time and am very, very happy with how the truck does with the wheel.
Because of your time constraints, if option C is not going to work then I would keep the wicked wheel if you have been happy with it.
I put the stock wheel back in your turbo. The only benefit if the WW2 is less noise at the cost of moving less air at lower rpm. I think the more accurate question is: whether the billet Riffraff wheel helps with noise at all. With stock injectors, you're not gonna be pushing any limits in a 38r.
