I have a potential problem here. I have changed out all but one spark plug at 67,000 miles because it has rusted in (2nd from the rear on the passenger side). I have been using liquid wrench and moderate force and even a few seconds with an impact wrench. It will not budge. I am worried that it may break off in the head so I am looking for anybody with experience.
I recently changed out the paasenger side exhaust manifold. I soaked at the bolts good with PB Blaster. Over a 24 hour period, I resprayed the bolts every couple of hours. When time came to remove them, I couldn't believe how easily they turned.
After a good soaking, you could try tightening the plug a hair to try to break it loose and then try unscrewing. This would be a gentle rocking motion.
Once you get the plug off, always used an anti-seize compound on the new threads.
WooHoo!!!!
48 hours of liquid wrench and an imapct wrench and out she comes. Thanks for everyones advice. The new one went in with anti-sieze and I can finally rest.
You can also reach up (with engine very very cool) from under the passenger side, you'll have more room unless you're double jointed to actually move your arm on the ratchet..
