I am very aware of the Navistar repairs due to the 6.0 and 6.4 designs, but Ford is making a ton of cash off of out of warranty Ecoboosts now too.

Was not the Rover diesel developed under Fords reign, by many of the same engineers who developed the 6.7? Ford should own the patent rights on it.

The aluminum construction of the F150 was developed during the time that Ford owned Land Rover. Did you (the OP) not say you intened to buy a diesel Land Rover with the same body stamping and consruction engineering as an F150? Not to mention the same diesel engine?
As for the complaint about "mini van" styling, that's subjective and opinionated and has nothing to do with capability.
If Ford screwed up, sales will tell and Ford will have to come up with a new stategy. I took a chance on an aluminum F150 with a 3.5 EcoBoost. 14k miles and no problems. Yes, I still wish I could buy a 300 straight 6 or a 6.8 V10 in an F250/350. It is truly sad that manual transmissions are gone, not only for Ford but GM and most Ram configurations.

Going back to the original topic and not a yelling contest, I'd much rather pay $40,000 for a diesel F150 than $70,000 plus. You're getting into high end luxury car prices at that point. Long gone are the days of the affordable everyman's car or truck...gone after Henry Ford died. Guess I'm in the minority when it comes to prices, cause I'm not willing to spend $65,000 for a work truck.
