Gibson vs Flowmaster 40
I currently have a Flowmaster 40 series on my 00 Explorer Sport OHV and now that im getting more into car audio than performance Im looking for somethign quieter. From what Ive read Gibson is the quietest performance muffler but I figured Id check with you guys just to be sure. Also will the performance be about the same and does anyone know what type of sound I will get in comparison? Thanks Alot.

Gibson vs Flowmaster 40
I have a '94 F250 - with a 460. I put a Gibson cat back on the truck when I got it. The sound was deep and mellow, and only rumbled and roared when you really got down on the gas. I drove it this way for a while. I had to replace my catalytic converter and decided to change to a Flowmaster 40. I chopped the system off at the rear of the Gibson muffler, and drove that way for a bit. The sound was a bit louder, because now the sound source was closer to the cab. Then I put on the Flow 40. The sound is much louder, and much more aggressive. The reverberation in the cab is very noticeable.
After having a 40 on your vehicle, you will hardly hear the Gibson. The tone of the Gibson is closer to a deep stock growl than the all out rumble of the 40.
