Actually any of then CAN be painted any color, the textured surface may have a slightly different look than the smooth body panels though.....

No offense but, why in the world would you think the guys that answer the phones would know the answer? All they have is the computer in front of them to tell them if it will fit. There's absolutely no way the tech help guys or the customer service guys would know the ins-and-out of every single item they sell at 1A Auto. It's just not possible for the reps to know all the differences and nuances of each item they sell, for each brand vehicle, model, and year (version) of said vehicle, and how those different parts may or may not interchange with the different years and models.
When I bought my mirrors, I was told there would only be one pigtail in the box, and it was for the '03 model years and up. But when I got my mirrors, the pigtail for my '00 was indeed inside along with the '03 pigtail.
They only know what's on the computer, or what they learn from us in feedback.

I trust what long-time folks on FTE say works since this forum is awesome.
I have bought sway bar bushings which "fit" - but actually don't.
I've bought F350 coil springs that "won't" fit - yet improve the ride and are awesome.
Some parts places don't even have 2005 excursion listed, so I enter 2004 and don't even blink.
Excursion Body mounts no longer available, Buy F250 body mounts and discover how many will fit! (on my to do list)
I think the "challenge" of finding a part is half the fun!

You will need to supply a 12v signal from your truck to those mirrors for the parking light function to work. You will also need the newer model plugs (05+) on the truck side. Those adapters don't give you the marker light. Just power mirror, turn signal and heat.
