03 navi rear suspension wont kneel

Hi all,

I have searched for the problem I have to no avail.
What's happening is, the front air bags while driving down the road, inflate and deflate while driving. I should mention, the truck does sit as it should with no leaks in the airbags. (The rear may be a little higher than normal imo)
The front does this no matter the speed. Its like it is kneeling while driving, then reinflating. It cycles constantly doing this.
When I park, the front only kneels while the rear does not kneel. As I mentioned earlier, it does seem to sit higher then normal while parked.
I know, its totally opposite then the guys that have the problem of it not airing up! Lola

My question is, where should I start to look for what's causing this?

Thanks

The solenoids on the rear bag might not be releasing air. Considering it's both I would focus on a wiring issue or a problem with the rear height sensor.

Alloro,
Ok I will look at the rear ride height sensor and post back later what found out.

Is there a way to test the sensor? And how do I test it?

Thanks

Ok, ive got the sensor off the truck. It moves freely, and actually seems to move too freely. How do i use an ohm meter to test the sensor?

I put my test leads on the 2 outside pins and moved the arm up and down, got nothing. Then put the leads on the middle and right pins and got just a 165.3 reading no matter the position of the arm on the sensor. Then put leads on left and center pins and get nothing.

Am i testing this correctly?

The sensor is no good. The 2 outside leads should read a constant ohms. The center will vary ohms as the sensor moves. If the outside pins (1, 3) are say 200 ohms then the center pin (2) to pin 1 will vary from 0-200 ohms as you move the sensor. At the same time pin 2 to 3 will vary in the opposite direction. no matter where the sensor is positioned the ohm value of pin 2-1 and 2-3 will add up to pins 1-3.

Alloro,

Ok great thank you for your help.

Now would the rear height sensor being bad, make the front air up then kneel, air up then kneel, while going down the road?

The rear is aired up pretty high, thought I'd mention this.

Thanks

I can see it doing that because with the rear pumped up too high the geometry of the vehicle is being thrown off. I'd fix the rear and see if the front takes care of itself.
