So the other day the radio quit and melted the antenna cable wire, I had 12v unplugged at the antenna there is NO power to my antenna not sure what happened or why
3-4 days later now the blower quit, wipers quit, Dash lights only work with the lights OFF
High beam light on dash turns on with low beams, light shuts off with the high beams turned on
The 4 way lights are stuck on all the time, not flashing outside or anything but the dash is lite up.
I have checked every fuse nothing can be found
I have added lights to my truck and there is a fuse right off the battery, so even if my wire got grounded the fuse should have blown (I did check the wire seems good)
Sounds like you're shorting or (wires melted) together causing the problems, time to crawl under the dash and start looking at wires, could be some of the plugs overheated and are making contact inside. It could also be the multifunction switch. Which is probably where I'd start before crawling around under the dash, but it doesn't explain the blower motor, you may have a couple of things going on at once.
Everything minus the radio quit at once. Including the blower when the wipers and everything quit so did the blower motor, there was not even a day between them. I have a multi function switch I picked up and gonna try so thanks! Wish a fuse had blown though, would least make me know what wires to be looking at - every fuse checks out good
I unpluged harness's. I have unplugged the blower motor, took the cluster out, tried different switches, unpluged HVAC controls. No matter what i do its always the same problem. If i leave compination switch plugged in still don't have working wipers. unplug the combination switch, the dash lights still don't work right with out taking the dash out and checking wires that way is there anything i can check? i cant see any issues with the wires from what i can get to wit everything out
The symptoms of your first post make me think you've lost the ground to your dashboard.
Things won't work if the 'ground' is already at 12V.
Try running a jumper from the metal support structure back to the battery negative terminal.

Thanks man, i didn't even think of that for some reason.... Where is the actual real ground location for the dash board? is it the 3 wires grounded at the passenger kick panel? Or is there even more?
It sounds like someone has miss wired the battery grounds.
The large ground cable goes to the engine block and not the frame but may have a center lug bolted to the frame if you pull a trailer.
There is also a large ground wire (10ga or larger) from the NEG post to the body ground on the fender.

I have checked the main grounds off the battery, i even have another ground wire going to the fender mount solemnized PLUS the normal one thats mounted to the fender. there is a Center one on the frame then mounted to the starter bolt to the block.
Then i have the firewall ground to the engine. I think im going to end up taking the dash out and checking all the wires, some time ago the headlight dimmer switch got really hot, and i have a feeling maybe melted some wires that finally gave way and causing my issue. That's if the main grounds are not screwed up someone how
I may well be wrong, but when i hear of things that aren't supposed to be live carrying voltage and even melting it makes me think they are substituting for a missing ground.
I defer to subford, as he has WAY more knowledge about these trucks than I could ever hope for.
Fixed the issue!!!
Thanks everyone!
When i went to unplug all the harness so i could get the dash out i had a full bare heavy ground wire that had melted the plug, right at the firewall on the drivers side, . Not 100% sure what caused the issue to start the melting but it seems like there was bare wires touching the ground. I fixed the wires and taped up the ground wire, and now everything seems to be working good!!!
