54 c500

Ok. It's probably been a couple of years since I've actually logged in. I have a question though, I am looking for the original sales price of a 54 c500. Google is no help, as there is very limited information on these trucks. I need the info to show that Ford actually produced these to Arizona, as the DMV here has no info on these types of trucks. I know someone out there knows the answer. Thanks in advance

Why on earth would the DMV care what the price 60 years ago was?

The Branham Automobile Reference Book has been for many years an authoritative reference used by DMVs, police when looking up vins, insurance companies, etc. Each yearly publication covers the five previous vehicle model years. So in this case your 1954 was the most recent in this 1955 issuance. I've done a quick and dirty iPhone scan of the relevant pages. The last image, page 275, has the specifics for the C-500 (C-50) series listing the wheelbases, shipping weights, base price, serial number sequence, and other key data for each configuration. Stu

Thanks Stu! that should help me out tons on solving my DMV issue. And for ALBUQ-f1, the truck came to me with a california title, then i titled it in colorado. the CO DMV only put down that it was a pickup. no model number or anything. Now that i live in AZ i want to put the truck back on the road, and there is not enough info on the title for the state, and it has to go through another inspection to verify what the truck actually is. the original price info is for the registration taxes, and whatever.

LOL, You'll be in tall cotton if they use the '54 price for taxes. Around $2k is my guess.

Glad it appears to be falling in place. Taxing based on original list price might be one of the few times you get off cheap with your state. Stu

I used a third party DMV place to license mine (Power Title and Tags in San Tan Valley). It was lots easier. I now register mine 5 years at a time and it's under $200.00.

It ended up being $80 for a partial year, because I had a temp tag on it before I put the full plate.
