shift light... anyone every done this?
Ok, so my truck is a 351w +c6. I plan on installing a tach as it didn't come with one. The other day the sun was hitting my dash at a weird angle, and I noticed that I could see the word "shift" with a little arrow beside it.(to the far elft of where my high beams and brake light are) I assume this was hooked up for trucks that were standard. Would it be possible to buy a tach with a shift light, put a bulb behind it, and re route it to there? Has anyone done this?

I would imagine you could run the aftermarket tach's shift light (extending the wire) to a socket that locks into the back of the cluster trim panel. Why not ? Is the aftermarket tach's shift light external of the tach ? What tachs are you looking at ?

With my previous trucks I'd always gotten an autogauge by autometer one. I've never bough one with a shift light. Do you have any recommendations? Id like to stay away from the ones that go up to 10,000 rpms, and plan on putting it on drivers side window pillar
