They handle the slushy crap we get on the east coast quite well. Shed water like a duck too. I loved em on my '06.
I am really looking forward to the wet traction...the Duelers were ok but going on the on ramps and you are surfing at times. It tries to rain frogs here at times.
Truck and tires each look great!
That tread pattern is a lot like the LTX M/S2's. Should be a nice tire, one I'll consider when I need tires on my 2013.
Why thank you kind sir! Ok one more just for you with tire dressing!
What tire dressing are you using? I like mine dressed a bit myself, and some are just too shiny. I have a dressing I'm using now from Macguires (all of my truck stuff is Macguires) but it's kind of a pain in the butt to apply.

Not sure what Rob is using, but I will say that I've been using 303 Protectant (it's not a tire shine, but a UV inhibitor) and I love the results. It gives the tire a nice clean factory matte look and doesn't sling any dressing up on the body. Some tire shines can actually speed the aging process of the tire as well. 303 is great stuff.
I have the Defender M/S in 275/55R20 on the Expedition and I love them. Very quiet, comfortable ride, EXCELLENT wet traction, excellent braking. No complaints other than a soft sidewall.
I had the original LTX M/S on a 2000 Cummins and had no complaints when plowing in CT. We did add significant weight to the bed though, which always helps with snow traction.
I currently run the new Nitto NT421Q on the wife's 08 Explorer and I am quite happy with them. Not extremely aggressive, but they handle well, are quiet and have very good wet traction. Prior to these Nittos I had Hankook DynaPro ATMs on it and was happily surprised at how well they did. I would buy them again without thinking twice. Only real complaint was they got a bit noisy once below 1/2 tread.
Disclaimer: I am not a fan of Nitto in general and have had **** poor results with their products in the past.

I may have to check out that 303 then. And yes some of the stuff really is bad for a tires sidewall.

303 is good stuff. I've never used it on tires, but I used it for many years in the Coast Guard on the rubber sponsons of many of our boats. It's amazing how much better they held up by simply being protected by the 303 from the uv rays and the salt water.
For my tires, I use Armor All Extreme Tire Shine Gel. It comes with the little foam applicator. I'm pretty happy with it. The tires have a nice shine, and I can sometimes get away with applying it every other wash because the tires still had shine left.
Nitto, Goodforayear, BFG, etc. all offer these "hybrid" tires that seem to cross the lines between an AT and MT. But the Falken A/T3W is hands down the winner because it's more rugged, costs far less, and still has the severe snow service emblem on the tire.
While we often don't agree, it's WXboy for the win!
I pulled the trigger on some Falken A/T3W's yesterday and got them mounted up today.
the severe snow rating was what tipped the scales. that, and the fact that I got them for $530 shipped to my door, plus another $38 to get them mounted. that's a tick over $142/tire all in. tough to beat for a tire like this. Hoping they hold up better than the coopers I just retired.
just thought I'd stick a fork in this one.

I'm curious how you like them over time, I don't see them up here much so don't have any experience with them.

I'm sure i'll have an opinion so far I've got 0.5 miles on them, but I can already tell you they are quieter than the cooper ATP's ever were, even in their first 0.5 miles.
Much cheaper then 22" tires per each!
that's why I buy XLT's and not Limited's
I didn't even want 18's. but now that 18's are the new 16's, and the price has come down, I wouldn't be so opposed to them.
that being said, a friend at work is looking at the Falken's also, and the 275/60r20's are only about $160 shipped through walmart.com. so that would put them at about $170 mounted and out the door. not too bad for a 20" hybrid tire.
Am I allowed to post a pic of an expedition in the f-150 forum? or would I be obligated to mod-delete my own post and give myself an infraction?
