1964 F100 4x4
#16
As a general rule, worry about conversions when you see the newer '64-'66 styleside bed on a '64 or '65 F 100 4x4. Even without looking at a VIN #, most will not go thru all the trouble to locate the correct bed, cut the frame down and use correct steering wheel and column. I think the dual battery conversion is a great idea! Maybe it was a factory DSO job!
IMO, the wheels are too far back. That and the fact the seller listed the VIN as F10 in one place. A pic of the Warranty Plate shows the "Warranty Number" as F11.

Very good observation ND. You are correct, front wheels are not centered under front fenders. This is true on all straight axle '61 thru '66 2WD pickups. Ford designed these trucks this way. It is even more obvious when it comes to 4x4's. The only pickups in this era which the front wheels are centered in the front fenders are '65-'66 F 100-250 and '66 F 100 4x4. Ford switched beds and wheelbases in this era like musical chairs. Wheelbase on longbed '61-'63 2WD pickups 122". Wheelbase on '64 2WD longbed 128". Wheelbase on '65 '66 longbed 129". The wheelbase on '61 thru '65 4x4's is 120". Ford had a habit of squeezing the same 8' body's on different length wheelbases. When the wheelbase increased from 128" in '64 to 129" in '65, the 8' styleside body wasn't lengthened, Ford moved the front axle forward 1". On this '64 4x4, the old 122" styleside bed was squeezed on a 120" frame, so the 4x4 axles were sucked in a little more than usual.
