A MOD worth having

My first week of ownership and about 300 mi and temps in the high 90's and not a cloud in sight.

The King Ranch Ultra package give you a roof full of glass and in side the cab is a thin material that blocks out the light and does a good job, but as for blocking out the heat from the South Texas sun, well not so good. I personally don't care for the glass top, sun roof or moon roof what they call it its just to dang hot inside the cab and of course heat rises so the AC which blows to REALLY cold, but your head is cooking

BUT WAIT there is a solution: Home Depot sells rolls of what is foil bubble wrap and it does a good job of reflecting heat. 2 strips side by side between the in cab light blocker and the moon roof and what a DIFFERENCE it makes, keep the cab MUCH cooler especially if you are tall like me and you head is high in the cab.

Just slide it in, no need to attach in any way, its works.

Here I have the moon roof open so you can see it. NOTE it does preclude you from using the moon roof, but no more than just reach up as you open it and pull out, put in back seat and reinstall when you go to close.

Nice solution, have you thought of maybe having some ceramic tint put on the sun roof?

Its fine the way it is for me, I have never used the moon roof and I don't want to mess it up in case I sell it or something, but this solution works very good,

Will not mess it up at all, it's a film like tint, but colorless. Block the heat only. Living in Texas it's a necessary. I'm doing my front windshield as well as the moon roof. Good money spent.

You have a link to the process? Seems like doing a windshield it would wear off?????

Thanks

A windshield alone would probably be around 125 or so? might get a better deal to do the whole truck. They make it in standard tint colors as well. I went with the llumar brand. It blocks a ton of the heat while only blocking the light you want it to.
