immediate help. stranded!!!

Update. Changed fuel filter. Had air in line. Got all the air out. Drove 45 mins no problem. Driving on highway and lost all throttle then overdrive light flashed and as I was pulling over truck died. Got towed to a gas station by a fellow ford. Thanks buddy. But I pulled fuel filter. It's fill of diesel. I tried to drain air out of injector lines again. But batteries are dying. Then i found a plug not plugged in on my throttle body area. I resecured it but still dead batteries. Have help coming but my question is would the wire unplugged on the throttle location be the culprit?

If it was the fuel shutoff then, yes, losing that connection would shut your truck down.

The yellow plug wasn't plugged in all the way/not at all. My eyes were on the fuel rails I happen to glance at this plug

There are three electrical connections at the injection pump (assuming this is what you mean by throttle body).
One is cold timing advance.
Another is cold idle advance.
Last is fuel shutoff.

You can run without the first two, but you have to have the third.

I'm assuming it's the fuel shut off one. Fuel filter had diesel but the fuel lines didn't have a drop going to the injectors

Yeah... that's kind of the point of the fuel shut off... <_<

BTW, that's happened to me before too, when I had the wire loose. Kinda scary, even when you know a lot about the engine and know what it probably is.

Yep, if that popped off then that's why she shut down. Probably bumped it when you did the filter.

You can't beat a running & moving diesel truck at that price!

A good set of batteries is a must for these engines.

Haha can't beat an easy fix! Now if only we could always FIND the easy fix within a few mins instead of hours/days...we've all been there.

Nice price point! Got mine for $1000 like 8-9 years ago. One way ticket across the state, haha. Never had a major issue yet! Changed the clutch and had minor stuff that took way too long to diagnose early on but that's it. Whoo!
