Newbie?

Hey everybody..well I am a newbie to the truck world. I am 17 and am looking to buy an F-150, I want to go with a 97or 98 with the 5.4l Triton in it. My question is how much for the models with this engine and what is the estimated mileage on it? Thanks for any and all help!

If you want a true bank loan type value go to nada.com. This is what the banks go by when giving out loans on vehicles.

Hi. You also might want to check out new trucks. I am also 17 and I just bought my 2003 F-150 4x4 truck.

In my experience (this is my 4th car) new cars are worth the extra money. Unless you know the person who previously owned it, you can't tell whether or not it was taken care of. And that can get expensive really quickley. Being 17, they won't let my name near a car loan. The truck is in my parents name, but I make the payments. I turn 18 in less than 2 weeks, and I am going to transfer the loan as soon as I can.

It all depends on how much you can afford, I guess. Interest rates are much better for new trucks than used ones, as well as heavy rebates. I think ford is still offering $3,000 rebate if you buy a new truck.

Hope this helps!

Hey "krazyk", welcome from Canyon Lake, Texas! Good luck on the F150. This is a good place to learn a lot about trucks. You might try "AutoTrader.com", also.
