Sync 4.6 Update issue
Sorry, I don't guess I can delete these. I was hoping to send a PM to FordIVTteam to supply my VIN information to hopefully troubleshoot my problem. I'll have to try again after 10 days I guess. I apologize for the crazy posts.
Make sure there are no other files on you flash drive. Some cheaper versions or free usb sticks will have a hidden auto run file on them. They can be very difficult to delete on some. So, you might google search the make and model of you usb stick and hidden files.
I had a few old sticks with this issue.

Sending you a PM now. Thanks for offering to help!
I downloaded the files, took my thumb drive to my truck, navigated to "advanced>>mobile applications>>install applications" and 4 minutes later it was done.
Not sure why you guys are having trouble.
Don't forget to go back to your PC and report the update to Ford so they'll have the update logged in their system and they'll start watching for the next update you're eligible for.

I just did this yesterday after reading this thread. My STX has the base radio with SYNC, no screen. After the first "install complete" it goes back to clock, then took another 5 min or so and showed "phone". After another 3 min, the sync lady came through and said "install complete". I re-paired my phone, downloaded phonebook and everything looks good.
I like that it now shows the song name/artist when playing music over bluetooth (which I do often). It also looks like you can read/send text messages though I haven't tried that yet. Maybe that was available before and I never noticed

After something like 7 or 8 attempts, I FINALLY got this update installed on my '13 STX. What finally made the difference for me was I performed the Factory Default and then the Master Reset option on my existing software. Only after doing that was I able to successfully update to Version 4.6. And as Robbgt mentioned, I LOVE how the song and artist now shows up while playing music via Bluetooth, because this is the primary way I listen to music. It's nice to not have to double-tap my phone screen every time it plays a track I haven't heard in a long while
