WELL I DON'T KNOW WERE TO START. I HAVE A 07 6.0 AND I NEED SOME HELP. FIRST THING IS I JUST HAD MY ENGINE BULLET PROOFED AND NEW HEADS PUT ON. I INSTALLED A SCT TUNER. WELL ABOUT A WEEK AGO I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND OUT OF NO WHERE I STARTED GETTING THIS HIGH PITCHED SQUEALING NOISE, IT ONLY DOES IT WHEN I REACH ABOUT 12LBS OF BOOST ON UP. WILL NOT DO IT WHEN IN PARK. I TOOK THE TURBO OUT AND INSPECTED EVERYTHING. I DID NOTICE I HAD A LITTLE PLAY IN THE TURBO. ALL HOSES AND BOOTS WERE FINE. CHECKED THE Y PIPE DID NOT SEE ANY CRACKS. PUT EVERYTHING BACK AND STILL GETTING THE NOISE. I ALSO REPLACED THE CAP FOR THE COOLANT. CAN ANYONE HELP ME
Check the band clamps to see if they are tight enough. I had a similar issue and replaced both band clamps for the down and up pipes on the turbo and it turned out to be the little one on the egr cooler.
Could be serpentine belt, idler pulley bearing or another pulley bearing. Power steering pump? Shows up when you put a load on the engine. Not a lot of help am I?
Do you still have the plastic CAC pipe between the cooler and intake elbow? If so, check it closely for cracks in the corrugated section under the air filter.
THANKS EVERYONE. I WILL LOOK AT ALL THESE TONIGHT. ON THE WAY INTO WORK TODAY IT SEEMED A LITTLE LOUDER AND IT ALMOST SOUNDS LIKE ITS COMING FROM UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN.
