rebuilt engine
So i just got a 04 5.4 3v long block to replace my current OEM engine, had 256,000 miles on her.
My mechanic is telling my I need a new valve cover for the new engine because of the old one being un serviceable (driver side) something about VCT or oil pressure.
Is this true or is he pulling a fast one?

I do not post on this site very often...
The PCV in the valve cover is not serviceable (from everything I have read)...the vct should be accessible through the valve cover on the 04-06 I believe...then Ford changed the size of the opening and made it smaller so the vct will not fit through it..but yes, a new valve cover will be needed for the PCV which is not really a PCV...if that makes any sense? Sorry if this confuses!
Regards!
